Lead Engineer

1. Specify and implement standard operating procedure(s) as needed to insure your team's  consistent success in design, construction, operation, & maintenance of heterogeneous networks  - at the infrastructure and application levels.
2. Develop and maintain formal technical documentation for new and existing systems.  Insure that your team's work is consistently documented and in a form suitable for populating a knowledge-base of historical problems, solutions, and projects.
3. Quickly and accurately define the scope and resource requirements for common project types; collaborate with the Director, Client Services to devise a framework that others can use for this purpose.
4. Establish yourself as the clients'  primary technical  contact;  solicit a fundamental understanding of their business goals such that you can shape a supporting technical strategy.  Proactively monitor and manage client expectations through regular interaction with senior executives.
5. Develop and maintain the foremost expertise in the nomenclature, function, & operation of all communications systems needed to achieve the stated job objective.

1. Relevant masters degree or equivalent experience and a passion for your craft; 7-10 years formal engineering experience, including design/construction/operation of mission-critical IP networks and/or related applications; at least 3 years in a managerial role.
2. Professional appearance, self-confidence, excellent written and verbal communications skills and the courage to use them under pressure.
3. Formidable expertise using and administering Microsoft and UNIX/Linux based systems in a networked environment.
4. A fundamental, seven layer understanding of IP networks and security is essential. Telecommunications experience is desirable, though not required.
